We’re not just designers, we are makers. Everything we sell here is designed and handcrafted with precision and passion in our home studio in Portugal. We’re not another drop-shipping company selling goods from China. We’ve started creating products because we couldn’t find what we like, in the style, the colors and the spirit we wanted.
After years working in IT consultancy, I have decided my wife and I to start an online business to sell premium and organic teas. End of 2023, we launched the website https://birdofparadise.pt. Earlier this year, we invested in a laser cutter and engraver to provide unique gifts and accessories. We started producing a variety of gift objects and finely cut wood boxes. Soon we realized we could do much more, and a growing frustration with lack of choice and audacity of most product retailers started to emerge. Namely we were looking for a new lamp for our living room. So, we decided to build it, and soon our home got filled with lamps, decorated mirrors, accessories like coasters, boxes. Everybody around us was thrilled with our objects, ready to purchase them, so we decided in 2025 to launch a side-business under the same brand with a dedicated website: https://deco.birdofparadise.pt.
Nowadays, colors are vanishing from the product landscape, minimalism is the dominant style which creates an environment with less and less visual stimulation. We personally aspire to something else, outside the current norms, by leveraging the power of precision numerical tools, beautiful colors and inspiration from the past to build unique objects that mesmerize our eyes, enrich our interiors with a smart and sophisticated touch. We’re not attempting to sell “minimalistic” objects that one stop looking after a while. We want our creations to be an invitation to a journey every time we’re looking at them.
